“ Delicious food! This place only gets better as the years pass. They have such a variety, everything is quality, and service is good. ”
“ Nice spot on Cherokee, staff was friendly when ordering and picking up food. Loved getting to order food and sit on the patio. The tacos were so good and the corn loved the soda also! Only spot I go in Cherokee check it out next time ! ”
“ One of my go to places on Cherokee Street. You order your food and receive a text when it is ready. There is a large patio. Guacamole - recommended There are multiple options for children. I enjoyed the Torta and quesadilla on two separate occasions. My experience has been that the food shines above meeting expectations. If you are in the neighborhood, then I would suggest you stop by. ”
“ When I come back to visit St. Louis I'm running into the doors of La Vallesana. It's one of the best Mexican restaurants in the country, in my opinion. The shrimp tacos, the housemade ice cream? Amazing. 10 stars if possible. ”
“ When no one can decide where to go, we go to Cherokee Street. La Vallesana is on Cherokee and has some of the best Mexican food and a great patio for summer. It originally opened in June 2003 as an ice cream shop, but has since evolved into a full-fledged restaurant and bar. I got the shrimp fajita bowl and it was nothing short of spectacular. The shrimp was perfectly cooked, perfectly spiced, and was accompanied by a generous array of fresh vegetables and toppings. The portions were huge. You won't leave this spot hungry. Loved it! ”
“ So good! I was trying to force my boyfriend to try somewhere new for both of us (he's always hesitant) and he finally caved and we weren't disappointed! Our food was delicious, we got to order up front so we didn't have to wait for the bill after, and the staff were so sweet to tell us their recommendations and what came with everything. The lighting is dimmed at night and there's a bar, back room, and patio. ”
“ Went on Labor Day. Sat outside. No waiters. You order your food at the counter and then go get it when it's ready. The chips and salsa are not free but this place is not TexMex, it's authentic Mexican. They have some of the best tacos we've ever had. The Margaritas were phenomenal too. No salt, no cute glass, no lime but they were amazing. Only negative is the salsa isn't great. Chips were good though. We'll be back. ”
“ We stopped by La Vallesana right when they opened on a Sunday. Parking is street only, but is relatively easy to find. The restaurant is essentially self-serve-- you order at the counter, provide a phone number, and they text you to grab it when your food is ready on a tray. They have outdoor and indoor seating as well. We love the tacos and the burritos here! I particularly enjoy the wide variety of meats they have and everything is very flavorful (especially with the flavored rice in the burritos). The red salsa was a bit too smoky for us, but we enjoyed the freshness of the green salsa. They recently raised their prices but everything is still relatively affordable ($3.25 per taco, $10 per burrito). You can also order online and pickup from their website. Only downside is they don't provide you with water, so either bring a water bottle or be prepared to go thirsty if you don't want to purchase a drink! ”
